Dewstow Gardens and Grottoes

Good for Walking

Built in 1890, buried after WW11, Dewstow Gardens have recently been rediscovered and have undergone a huge restoration and renovation since 2001. Now open to visitors.

Opening hours: The Gardens are Open Daily until Sunday October 18th 2009, from 10am until last entry at 4pm.

Admission charges: Adults £6, Concessions £5, OAP £5, Children under 18 £3.50, under 10 Free. Family Ticket £18 (2 Adults and Two Children) Season Ticket £20 (enables you to visit the gardens on any open day throughout the season)

Accessibility:

There is very limited access for wheelchairs in the garden and no access to the underground areas. We have disabled toilet facilities in the tea room area.

Getting here

By road:

From Cardiff: Leave the M4 at junction 24 (Coldra roundabout) and take the A48 Chepstow road. Continue for approx 8 miles until you pass the Ban Mai Restaurant (Wentwood Inn) pub on your right. Continue for about 1 mile, then turn right into Caerwent. Drive into the village until you pass the Coach and Horses pub on your right. Turn right at the crossroads and drive out of the village. Where the road bears sharply left, turn right, go over the brow of the hill, past the golf club on your right and follow the road over the brow of the hill, under the wooden road bridge then bear round to the left and Dewstow House is on your left..

Follow the brown tourist flower signs from Caerwent or Caldicot.
