An enchanting forest where visitors can stop off at 7 differant car parks to enjoy cycling and walks with spectacular views. The newly opened visitor centre has a gife shop, information area and relaxing cafe with impressive outdoor seating area.

Opening hours: Forest: Drive: March - October 11am-5pm,
April - August 11am-7pm (Jul & Aug 9pm weekends)
September 11am-6pm
November 11am- 4pm weekends, weather premitting ( please call before visiting)

Visitor Centre:
October-Easter: 9am-5pm Saterday-thursday, 9am-4pm friday
Easter-October: 9am-5pm monday-thursday, 9am-6pm friday-sunday.

Admission charges: Forest Drive - Car £3.00, Minibus £6.00, Coach £20.00. Visitor Centre - Free. Mountain Bike Trail - Free

Getting here

By road:

M4 Junction 28 (signposted Risca). Approximately 7 miles north on A467. Follow the brown & white tourism signs for the Forest Drive

Parking:

Ample free car and coach parking.

Public transport:

Bus: X15, 151 from Newport, X16 from Cardiff, X15 from Brynmawr, 151 from Blackwood & Newbridge. (All services stop at Cwmcarn Library - 11 minute walk).
