The Old Curiosity Shop
It?s not about a shop at all, Dickens changed his mind. It's a journey, a flight undertaken by the girl Nell and her gambling-addicted Grandfather... a flight from demons and enemies.
Dogging their footsteps are the bad-guys, Quilp and the crooked lawyer Brass. Also hard on their trail is the Single Gentleman, mysterious and rich.
Along the road Nell an Grandfather meet a whole Fun and Horror House set of characters who help and hinder, amuse and bemuse, sucker and succour them.
And then there?s Dick Swiveller and his Marchioness, the comedy second-leads who get dragged into full-screen close up as the lovers. In this innovative and imaginative adaptation Little Nell and Quilp are played by the same female actor reflecting the struggle between good and evil.
True to the inner life of the book this adaptation shows Dickens at his best, funniest and as a master of the grotesque.

Hamlet: Prince of Denmark
Icarus Theatre Collective and Harrogate Theatre
A revenge thriller asking: Does revenge justify murder?
Do I murder the king now or wait for proof? Are women constant and worthy or flippant and unfaithful? Is life worth living?
To be or not to be... Hamlet asks these questions as he struggles to find one moral absolute in a murderous, corrupt world.
Shakespeare?s most iconic and challenging play - arguably the world?s greatest dramatic work - goes for the jugular without hesitation.
A fresh, kinetic, and above all accessible production, perfect for students and adults alike to learn or re-visit the story.
This is an ensemble play with respect for realism and the eloquence of the verse blended with physical theatre and a subtle score.

Mike Peters
The once and future king of Rhyl, frontman of 80s indie rockers The Alarm and a folk/roots performer in his own right.
The beginnings of The Alarm are rooted in the punk rock soundclash of 1977 when an impressionable Mike Peters began writing three minute blasts of electric noise on a beat up white guitar. The energy of the times has sustained Mike Peters ever since.
Mike writes songs with passion and skill; blending erudite Dylanesque lyrics with the anger of punk.
Best known as frontman of the internationally acclaimed Welsh band The Alarm, Mike Peters is also an inspirational solo acoustic performer and (as a two times cancer survivor), founder of what is now regarded as the world's leading rock and roll cancer charity Love Hope Strength Foundation.
