Good for Castles

Cyfarthfa Castle is amongst the most thought-provoking of all Valleys attractions. Formerly home to ironmaster William Crayshaw, Cyfarthfa is now a place where both sides of history can be examined.

The luxury enjoyed by the Crawshaw family is still very much in evidence but the ironworkers are far from forgotten. Happily anyone can now roam through Cyfarthfa Park. Admission is free.

There is plenty to explore at Cyfarthfa Castle and Park, both indoors and out. The extensive gardens make a lovely spot for a gentle walk on a sunny day, but when it's raining there's enough to keep all the family amused inside. The tea shop is excellent in any weather.

Getting here

By road:

From the south take the M4 to junction 32 and travel north on the A470. From the Midlands take the A465 from Abergavenny and from the north the A470 from Brecon.
