CADW
Good for Castles
'Cadw' (pronounced cad-oo) is a Welsh word meaning 'to keep'. Cadw is the historic environment service of the Welsh Assembly Government.
They welcome over a million visitors to their sites every year.
In Southern Wales you will find Blaenavon Ironworks, Caerphilly Castle, Castell Coch, Chepstow Castle, Ragland Castle and Tintern Abbey.
They aim to protect the historic environment of Wales by working with partners and private owners. They want people to enjoy it, to learn from it, to preserve it for our descendants, and to share it with others.
Cadw's events team has put together an exciting programme of events for 2010. Whether you want to be thrilled by gallant knights fighting, entertained by stories of the past or swept up in the drama of a play, you will find plenty of choice at Cadw sites all over Wales.
